Rolling terrain and open lots in Tallmadge call for fencing that’s built to last. A wood fence there has to follow the ground, so we stick-build every section on site and can rack, step, or contour it to the slope.
Older homes near the Circle and larger lots toward Tallmadge’s edges call for different fences, and cedar and pine offer a traditional look in picket styles up front and board-on-board or shadowbox in the backyard.
Full-privacy options include board-to-board, board-on-board, shadowbox, and horizontal styles, plus dog-ear picket. Decorative options include cap-and-trim and board-on-board cap-and-trim, and open rail styles (3-rail, 4-rail, crossbuck, round rail, and split rail) top out at 5 feet. Privacy and picket heights start at 3 or 4 feet and go up to the limit your city allows. In Tallmadge, picket styles suit older homes near the Circle, and board-on-board or shadowbox suits the larger lots toward the edges.
